Attorney Thomas E. Murphy received his Bachelor of Science in Economics from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania in 1982, followed by a successful career in corporate management. He then graduated cum laude from Pace University School of Law in 1996 with a Juris Doctor degree and a Certificate in Health Law and Policy. He also was named Ranking Scholar and Law Trustee Scholarship recipient. He is a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, Connecticut NAELA, and the Elder Law Section and the Estates and Probate Section of the Connecticut Bar Association. Tom is an accredited attorney with Veterans Affairs and a frequent lecturer in the local community on Elder Law subjects. Tom has been practicing Elder Law, Estate Planning, and Probate law since 1996, because he enjoys solving complex problems to enable clients to preserve both their lifestyle and their life’s savings. He helps clients use wills, trusts, transfers of assets, annuities, exempt assets, family compensation, insurance, and other strategies to qualify for Medicaid and VA Aid & Attendance, avoid probate, minimize taxes, and provide for loved ones’ needs.
